Suggested six zoom courses learning 

Throughout the six courses, you will work with Director Tony Starting with the first step of understanding the storytelling and filmmaking process.

 You will learn how to create your own story for your film. Details of how to tell a good story. What makes your story special? With these six courses, you will get the full comprehensive understanding of what you need to make a good film.Maybe even one that wins awards.

 

FILM STORY

 Create your story, learn how to conform your story into movie format by using storytelling method dates back thousands of years that the professional still apply to film today.

You learn all the elements you need in a story to make your film emotional like a professional movie. We will watch scenes from award-winning films to learn how the pros make films.

PRE-PRODUCTION

 Learn about pre-production. You wrap up your complete movie story structure plan. Learn the preparation work you need to do before you start filming.

 

DIRECTING

 The most important job of filmmaking – Learning how to be a good director. You will learn a step-by-step process of directing. The students delve into more detail of the art of directing including visual, sound, and effects.

WORKING WITH OTHERS

A good filmmaker must be a good communicator. You learn to be a leader on the film set. You communicate with actors and the crews. Everyone is looking to your decision. You are like the captain of the ship. You lead your actors and crews to finish your film with your creative vision. This is the most valuable lesson the student will learn that will be useful for filmmaking and for being a leader in life. 

 PRODUCING

What does a producer do on a TV show or a feature film? How to produce your own project? The more the student understands about producing, the better quality of the film the student will produce.  Learn about the part you never learn about in film school- The real world of the film industry and working in the professional world.

EDITING

With everyone on social media learning how to cut your film footages together with some special effects from editing softwares like Final cut pro or Adobe premiere pro will give you an edge and advantage over your film and video.

TONY SHYU is a noted American director and award-winning screenwriter. The PSA he directed for API Vote starring George Takei, John Cho, and Constance Wu won the 2016 Videographer award. Tony has directed over 50 TV commercials in U.S. and Asia. for brands like MTV, Avon, and Visa card.

 

He is currently in production on a feature film Macau Omen (2020), which has won numerous awards including Best Screenplay at the 2012 Gotham film awards. His short film, Macau Twilight (2008), was an official selection at the BFI London Film Festival. Tony also wrote, directed, and produced a feature film, Tequila Body Shots (1999), distributed by Lionsgate. 

He is the producer and director of a new documentary film called The Race Epidemic. He also serves as the producer of a new American Reality TV show. 

Tony enjoys working with actors and has taught Acting in Film at Hong Kong International Film Academy.

Tony received his M.F.A. in film from the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, known for creating visual storytellers.
